Dangerous Boiler

This boiler hadn't been serviced in years, and had a non Corgi-registered person install new parts which in time melted into the boiler and was 'immediately dangerous' (a Gas Safe term). The remedial work carried out was to remove the boiler and install a new one.

Unsecured Gas Fire

Note the spillage on the surround; this was due to the fire not being secured to the wall properly on installation. This also caused the black soot at the top off the fire. Remedial action taken was to service the fire and secure it properly to the wall.

Blocked Gas Fire

The owner of this gas fire was complaining of the pilot light going out all the time. When I came to service the appliance, I carried out a smoke test on the flue. I found it was blocked, and that over the years it had filled with soot and dirt, and even and a bird's nest! The remedial work carried out was to isolate the appliance, remove it, clean the flue and fit a new fire. This was an immediately dangerous situation, which shows the importance of servicing your gas appliances regularly.
